Underwater Dogs!
“Many of us look to our dogs as one of our best friends—unconditionally sharing of their love and admiration, and always in appreciation of even the smallest of gestures. The relationship shared with our doggie pal is magical—a connection that is written in a language that is as mysterious and wonderful as the love that we share for humankind. Underwater Dogs illustrates this special bond by capturing dogs at their most playful, fun-filled joy in the cool blue waters of a backyard pool. These uniquely composed images are sure to warm your heart and put a smile on your face with their whimsy and artful views.
This innovative perspective is wonderfully inspired and memorialized by doggie friend and photographer Brooke Mayo . Brooke has pushed the boundaries of underwater photography forward by fusing her artistry with the element of water—providing fantastic views from a fresh new perspective.

Beautiful dog painting
Sarah writes Barkmagazine.com
Most of my career has been as a product designer in the home furnishings industry. I began with a line of custom rugs (still available), and eventually expanded into other kinds of products, some I produced myself, and some I designed for other companies. Last winter I was feeling ready for a change, but not sure what it was going to be.
I hired a business coach to help me think through the re-creation of my business. Very early on she said, "ok, don't tell me about what you think you can and can't do with your business, tell me what you want your life to look like". I didn't take the question very seriously, so without even thinking I said, "I want a house in the mountains with a studio, and I want to paint." She looked surprised but pleased, but I thought, "yeah right - who doesn't want to live off their painting, music, writing etc. I would never be able to do that."

Conveniently located VCA animal hospitals will provide a safe environment for pets that have been affected by the fires through November 5, 2007 on a space available basis.

AP Story - Mutts and Moms / Paw Boutique
AP - Wed Oct 17, 8:05 PM ET A closed pet supply and grooming store, Paw Boutique, is shown Wednesday Oct. 17, 2007 in Pasadena, Calif. Pet Boutique, owned by Marina Batkis, has been forced to close after threats to the rescue agency 'Mutts and Moms' which operates out of Paw Boutique store. 'Mutts and Moms' seized a dog Oct. 14, that Ellen Degeneres had earlier given to her hairdresser in an apparent violation of the adoption agreement. (AP Photo/Nick Ut)
Baktis has now said that she would never give back Iggy to the family that DeGeneres handed him off to.
“No, that is not a consideration at this point, no,” Baktis told Access. “Not after the way we’ve been treated, no. We have been terrorized, it has been horrible.”
Attorney Keith A. Fink, who doesn’t legally represent Baktis and Chekroun (but is authorized to speak on their behalf), confirmed to The Associated Press that the women will not give back Iggy.
