Hotels

Finding a perfect relationship between your dog and a hotel can be much easier than you think. With a little research you can find several options which can make you and your pet quite comfortable. If you and your pet are traveling by vehicle, you may only require a quick night’s rest along the way toward your destination. Singing songs over the radio together can take a toll and a good rest may be needed. Motel 6 is a clever option; it is pet friendly and good for the budget traveler. The Motel 6 pet policy is one pet, no more than 50-60 lbs which may vary by location and there is no pet fee!

Some other great hotel options for a “dog on the go” are Holiday Inn Express and specific Marriott Hotels. The Holiday Inn Express pet policy varies by location; however, most areas have a 40%-50% pet acceptance rate. In Denver 16 of 21 properties are pet friendly, in Chicago 25 of 50 properties are pet friendly, and in New York 15 out of 50 properties are pet friendly. Two specific Marriott Hotel properties are 100% pet friendly, Residence Inn and Town Place Suites both accept pets as guests. Each property is individually weight based so calling ahead is always a good practice.

If spoiling your hard-working dog with a little pampering is in order than this option may be what you are searching for. Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants has everything you and your pet are searching for with 100% pet acceptance accompanied with a mission to meet all your pet’s needs as a guest. Hotel staff offer dog walking and there are no weight restrictions, although a pet waiver is required. The Hotel Monaco locations are Chicago, Salt Lake City, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Denver. In San Diego you can stay at Hotel Solomar, Hotel Palomar in Los Angeles, and 70 Park Avenue Hotel in New York.

Driving

Finding a place to stay while you and your pet embark on great travel adventures is not as hard as it seems and finding the right fit for you and your dog is always important. With several options of where to stay, getting there is just as important. Driving is a fun alternative, however, getting away from work and responsibilities may pose a challenge and it may be difficult to hit the road with only a few days of vacation. Driving is a great bonding experience for you and your dog and if driving is in the agenda it is good to remember to take frequent rest stops for exercise. Have lots of chew toys and bones available for your pet’s delight and for your vehicle’s interior as well.
