Charlie is a three year old pooch that we think is part Retriever and Greyhound.
Almost three years ago, Charlie was living with a homeless Gentleman in the woods on the outskirts of Tacoma, Washington. The Gentleman knew that Charlie was not well and the two of them walked into town to find a veterinary clinic. The Gentlemen was concerned about Charlie and wanted the best for "his" dog. What he did next is one of the most selfless things I've seen in a long time; He asked the Veterinarian to please help him find Charlie a new home where he could be cared for properly. That same day, the Vet posted Charlie's information on the internet where we saw the posting on Craigslist. It was a Sunday and the the Vet said she could meet us so we drove to Tacoma and met the Vet and Charlie in a parking lot at the Home Depot just off Interstate five. Charlie was jumping back and forth over the car seats in the car. When the Vet opened the door, Charlie sprang out of the car and straight to me. He was so excited that he piddled all over my leg and shoe as his cute little butt was out of control because his tail was waging so intensely.
Needless to say, Charlie has been the light of my life.
How I wish I could meet the "Gentleman in the woods," that gave up his companion so that Charlie could have a life that he could not.
All the best!
